Contrary to popular belief, vampires aren't the leading cause of low blood supplies: Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood In 2014, more than 1.6 million people were diagnosed with cancer – many who need blood, often daily, throughout chemotherapy A single car accident victim can require as many as 100 pints of blood Less than 10% of the eligible 38% of U.S. blood donors actually donate And, as every vampire knows, blood can't be manufactured – it can only come from generous donors* That's why, for the month of October, Words Take Flight Books will stake 10% of all sales of our critically hailed vampire novels to the American Red Cross specifically for blood-related needs. If vampire books aren't to your taste, then we encourage you to visit the American Red Cross and, if eligible, donate blood today.
